Energy CX has opened a New York City office at 2 Grand Central in Midtown Manhattan, giving Northeast clients a local team for their energy buying decisions. The company announced the opening in a press release on October 22, 2026.

Why Open an Office in New York?

Energy markets in the Northeast move fast and differ from state to state. For a buyer with sites in several states, timing and contract structure play out differently in each market. Both affect budget certainty directly, which makes price volatility a budget problem and not just a market headline.

Co-CEO Miles Rice said the new office changes how clients work with the team:

“Our Northeast clients have trusted us with their energy strategy from a distance. Now they have a team on the ground, which means faster answers and better-timed decisions that protect their bottom line.”

What Will the New York Team Do?

Team members based in New York support clients in commercial real estate, hospitality, healthcare, manufacturing and other sectors. They cover the full procurement process: setting the buying strategy, market-timed purchasing, ongoing account management and performance reporting. The aim is to manage energy as an investment, not a fixed line item.

How Does the Office Fit Energy CX’s Growth in the Region?

Energy CX announced a regional expansion in April. The New York office puts a dedicated team in what the company calls one of the most complex and expensive energy markets in the country.

The company serves customers across more than 20 deregulated states and manages energy for more than 2 billion square feet.

Cushman & Wakefield represented Energy CX in the lease negotiations. Managing director Eric Hazen said the Grand Central location gives the New York team “an address that matches their ambitions.”

Co-CEO Scott Hammes said the opening “marks an important step in continuing to build our presence in the region.”

Key Takeaway

Energy CX opened a New York City office at 2 Grand Central to give Northeast clients a local team. That team covers strategy, purchasing, account management and reporting across commercial real estate, hospitality, healthcare and manufacturing. The opening builds on the regional expansion Energy CX announced in April.
