2025 was a big year for Energy CX. What began 15 years ago as a small, visionary brokerage has evolved into one of the fastest-growing, most innovative energy brokers in the country. This year we more than doubled our team, strengthened our technology and reached milestones that reflect both our growth and our commitment to our customers. These are the top five moments that defined our year.
#1: We Made the List!
For the second year in a row, Energy CX was named to the Inc. 5000 list for fastest growing private companies in the US. We ranked No. 2,334, moving up 1,448 spots from the 2024 list.
Companies on the Inc. 5000 list are ranked according to percentage revenue growth over a three-year period. Energy CX saw a 182% increase in three-year growth. The Inc. 5000 list, published annually by the leading media brand and playbook for business leaders, provides a data-driven snapshot of the most successful companies within the economy’s most dynamic segment—its independent, entrepreneurial businesses.
#2: We Raised $80,000 for META24
This year we held our fourth annual fundraiser gala supporting META24 at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago.
Through the support of sponsors and guests, the fundraiser raised a record-setting $80,0000 for META24, a nonprofit reimagining education through entrepreneurship by providing at-risk students in Chicago with the tools, resources and real-world experiences to build their futures.
Our ongoing partnership with META24 is just one way Energy CX supports its core values of continuous growth and education, along with aiming to do good for our community.
#3: We Nearly Doubled Our Workforce
We welcomed an incredible wave of top-tier talent across every department in 2025, building on our “customer obsessed” values and scaling to meet the needs of our rapidly growing client base. Our team expanded from 68 to 110, growing 61% in just one year.

#4: We Got a New Address
To accommodate our growing team, we moved to a new 25,000 square-foot office in the heart of Chicago’s River North neighborhood. The space features an open floor plan and plenty of natural light that encourages collaboration and creativity.
The office also features amenities that focus on employee well-being, including a meditation room, an on-site gym and games like mini golf and shuffleboard. It’s a space built for culture and big ideas.
#5: We Turned 15
Our journey began five generations ago with the Rice family's unwavering commitment to energy innovation. In 2010, this legacy evolved to Energy CX, starting as a small family business but rapidly shifting into a dynamic and disruptive force in the industry.
Today, we’ve proud to be recognized as a Top U.S. Energy Brokerage with a data-driven approach and dedication to innovation. We’ve grown to provide energy procurement, sustainability solutions and utility services across 20+ states and thousands of companies nationwide.
