Brett Adlard is Interim CTO and Head of Quantitative Strategy at Energy CX. He joined the company in December 2024 to lead AI strategy and engineering. Prior to Energy CX, Brett co-founded and served as CTO of qilo, where he built deep learning models to predict electricity prices in real time and shipped machine learning tools that utilities used to track demand and customer behavior. Before that, he spent nearly a decade in capital markets, trading energy commodities at Geneva Trading, then advising on municipal finance and portfolio strategy as Vice President and Principal at Piper Jaffray and as an Associate at BMO Capital Markets.

At Energy CX, Brett has led the company’s AI strategy, building the internal platform, tooling and adoption programs that put AI directly into the hands of every team. He introduced AI Office Hours to guide employees on best practices for using AI in their work. His team also built Energy CX’s custom Claude connector, which puts real-time energy market analytics and customer analysis directly into Claude and is the company’s second-most-used connector. Brett holds a Master’s in Applied Data Science from the University of Chicago and is a CFA charterholder.
